Welcome to our debut blog post in a series we’ll be calling An Inside Look! We want to give you guys just that; an inside look into some of our favorite venues and what we love about them through our camera lens. What are some good spots to shoot at on the venue site? Is the bridal suite photogenic? Whether you’re planning your wedding or an engagement session, through these posts we hope to answer those and other common questions! We are starting with one of our personal favorites Cypress Grove Estate House.
Cypress Grove Estate House | The Venue
This classic 1925 estate is nestled on the shores of Lake Jessamine in the heart of Orlando, FL. Sitting on 80 acres of lush grounds with perfectly manicured lawns, tree-lined streets, and beautiful flowers, this location is unique among Orlando venues. If you are looking for that southern charm it’s the perfect venue.
Cypress Grove Estate House is managed by RW Events, a premier venue management, and specialty rentals company in the Orlando area. We’ve been closely working with RW Events for years now and Cypress Grove Estate House is one the venues we shoot most frequently for weddings and engagements. They offer packages for whatever type of wedding you may be having whether it be a destination, small, or a grand event. To learn more about what they offer, check it out here. They partner with Big City Catering, who handles all catering at the Estate House. Their cuisine and cutting edge presentation are second to none. With over 70 team members and a management team with collectively over 100 years of experience can handle whatever you need.
The venue is in a residential area and set far off the road for a relaxed and quiet atmosphere. But also only minutes away from Downtown Orlando and a short drive from popular tourist attractions for those looking to extend the festivities later into the night.
They offer two main locations on site – The Estate House & The Grove House. The Cypress Grove Estate House is the epitome of a southern plantation style home surrounded by majestic oak and cypress trees draped in that romantic Spanish moss. It serves as a crisp blank canvas for simple or elegant weddings and everything in between all while maintaining a cozy feel.
The Grove House is a short drive past the Estate house and is a sweet cottage style venue for more intimate weddings. The indoor space allows for 50 invitees and is ideal for a charming and close-knit event. It features a wedding gazebo, a private water garden and a lovely front porch complete with rocking chairs. Using the Grove House allows for more catering options as well.
Cypress Grove Estate House | What We Love
Weddings & Engagements at sunset are absolutely magical here and is definitely our favorite time to shoot at this location. The Estate house is equipped with a darling bridal suite as well; perfect for that special time while the bride gets ready on her big day! The Estate House accommodates up to 75 guests comfortably for indoor receptions while the impressive garden & reception area in the back can accommodate up to 200. The stairwell on the rear side of the building allows us to get full shots of the entire party to really capture the grandeur of the event!
Below are just some of our favorite spots on property to shoot. The garden at Cypress Grove Estate House is something out of a Midsummer Night’s Dream. It is ridiculously romantic and hands down our favorite area to shoot! It’s the perfect spot for first looks and couple’s portraits. The street leading to the venue is lined with beautiful mature trees and is another one of our favorite photo spots.
The lakeside gazebo provides a gorgeous setting for ceremonies. The tall trees and landscaping make for naturally beautiful surroundings. The lake is truly a wonderful backdrop for wedding ceremonies. When we spoke to the office manager at Cypress Grove Estate House, she mentioned it’s her favorite spot on the premises! She agrees with our sentiment of the magic of sunset reflecting off Lake Jessamine!
The outdoor backyard area, referred to as the amphitheater, is the prime location at this venue for reception and cocktail hour. The brick is beautiful and alleviates the need to rent a dance floor and the market lighting above adds a lovely ambiance to the evening’s festivities. The formal, and later, the informal dancing looks wonderful in the amphitheater. It’s a no-brainer choice for a wedding reception!
Cypress Grove Estate House also has a grand lawn. The lawn can fit a tent allowing for an outdoor reception of 200 guests. It’s crisp and clean grass lawn is picture perfect for that “backyard wedding” feel if that is what you are looking for! It also serves as a backup location in case of rain, so you can rest assured that your celebration will continue despite our Florida rain showers.
Lastly, being whisked away at the end of the night whether it be by sparklers or balloons, nothing really states “grand” like stepping out the front of this gorgeous estate!
RW Events has been in the wedding business for 14 years now and are complete pros! This is one of their two venue locations and they also have rentals, event coordination, and planning. At Cypress Grove Estate House, they have an impressive 2oo events per year so they are experts in just about everything! They are there for you if it rains and have contingency plans that they put into action. We can’t say enough about the staff at RW Events and the team at Cypress Grove Estate House, they are truly wonderful to work with. They are always there to help with due date timelines, lists of tidbits & tips, and more to help their clients in the venue/catering planning process.
