Peter and Kara’s love story had a prelude before the beginning. They met through mutual friends first but the timing was slightly off. As luck would have it, some time passed and Peter was about to move to Ghana for 6 months when they decided to pick things up again! They lasted the distance and celebrated their love by having an Orchid Garden Wedding.
Getting Ready & First Look
Peter and Kara got ready in separate places prior to their ceremony. The couple opted for some beautiful jewelry for the bride’s rings. My goodness the rose gold and pear shaped diamond is absolutely to die for! Kara played off the color of her rings into her bridesmaid dresses in gold and rose gold. She even added painted gold leaves to her bridal bouquet.
Peter looked sharp in a black suit and cognac colored leather shoes. The bride mixed classic and modern looks into her wardrobe. She wore a beautifully delicate A line lace gown with minimal embellishment to cinch her waist. Her layers of pearls were both classic and modern as they draped behind her back for an awe inspiring touch!
The First look was oh so sweet! The couple met alongside Orlando’s Lake Eola where they had so much of their history. Who knew their picnic dates there would be where Peter would propose and see his bride dressed in white as well? It was a very touching moment to see it all come full circle!
Orchid Garden Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was held inside the grand ballroom at Orchid Garden in downtown Orlando. The ceremony was both simple and amazing with those cascading stair cases coming down on both sides. This “shades of gold” dazzling wedding really married well (pun not intended) with the gold touches of the venue as well as the shimmering leading ladies of Kara’s bridal party. It was easy to feel the raw emotion from both sides of the family and especially Peter’s mom during this tear dropping ceremony.
Orchid Garden Wedding Reception
The over arching shades of gold theme continued after the ceremony. Peter and Kara opted for a black tie attired wedding that was very fitting for this truly spectacular setting at Orchid Garden. The impressive high ceilings, exposed brick, and baroque-like arch ways really gave it an elegant feel. Formal gold chandeliers centered each table and antique gold frames helped demonstrate the table numbers perfectly. The cake was just as golden as the rest of the night; it’s three tier chocolate icing with gold sprinkles decor looked both unique and delicious!
The bride and groom’s guests danced the night away in the ballroom where they had their ceremony at Orchid Garden and were sent off into the night by grand sparkler exit. Peter and Kara shared one last kiss of the night before heading off into the rest of their lives together!
