We are so SO excited to be sharing not only some of Chanel’s fabulous images but also, give you an inside look as to exactly how it feels during and after a boudoir session at AJP studios near Orlando, FL from a former boudoir babe’s perspective! We hope its insightful and answers some of your questions if you are on the edge of booking a session with us!
Q&A From Boudoir Babe Chanel
1) I know you are a boudoir photographer yourself! How did you feel being on the other side of the camera?
I have modeled several times before, but mostly for my fiancé who is also a professional photographer. So stepping in front of Ashley’s lens was definitely a STRANGE feeling! But I did my best to surrender to the process; the way I like my own clients to do. Ashley is such a positive, easy spirit that it was easy to trust her; so the hardest part was trusting myself to let go!
2) Was there something you realized as a boudoir client that you didn’t anticipate? Perhaps, how comfortable you felt? Or how nervous you were to do certain poses?
Part of me was surprised at how easy it was to “get into the groove” and open up in front of a new photographer. But on the flip side I was more self-aware than I have ever felt before. I just trusted Ashley to guide me, and even if I felt unsure about my pose or what I was doing, I knew that Ashley would not steer me wrong. So I allowed her to be my compass and my sounding board throughout the session. That’s her job, after all, so I had to let her do it! ; ) Certain poses did make me nervous, but again, I just committed anyway and knew that Ashley’s artistic eye would translate it perfectly.
3) You had soooooo many outfits! Which outfit was your favorite?
After seeing the finished product, the boyfriend jeans and white shirt were my ABSOLUTE favorite (and the shirt wasn’t even mine!)!! I’m a less is more kind of girl when it comes to boudoir; so the clean, relaxed nature of that look allowed any viewer to focus on just me, not distracted by my clothing. I also didn’t expect to feel or look so beautiful in something so casual, but the images proved me wrong in a big way!!!
4) We loved your hair & makeup! Did you like the experience of getting hair & makeup done! If so tell us more about it!
I ADORED having my hair and makeup done! It’s so refreshing to let someone else’s vision come to life, flawlessly, and to feel like a celebrity by the time you are camera ready. This part did make me nervous as well, but there was simply NO NEED: Ashley’s makeup team was so on point.
5) After leaving the studio…were you pleased with the session? Did you feel more empowered? If so, tell us more about how you felt after your awesome session!
I felt happy and accomplished, but mostly just curious. Would the images look the way I was imagining them in my head? Did I do my part, did I do enough to give Ashley what she needed to make some pretty pictures? And here is the answer: The images were over-the-top amazing, and I almost didn’t recognize myself, in the best way possible. It wasn’t until I viewed my beautiful finished gallery that the real empowerment set in: I’m a powerhouse, a goddess, and trusting another powerhouse lady to show this to me was the best gift I could give myself. Opening up and trusting the process led to beautiful things!
